The Russians
"The Russians" is a series of special gilded artistic graphics from our spiritual father and main illustrator Jan Hachran, which motif will also serve as an illustration of the russian nation in our upcoming book Slavs in pictures and poetry. In the next few weeks golden graphics of Ukrainians and Poles will follow. In our book each slavic nation will have their own illustration, that will capture its essence and pass it on to its readers; in addition, there will be also illustrations accompanying text and decorative initials. If you keep follow us, you will see the development of it all from the beginning to the end.
Brief description of the picture:
In the middle of the picture is Mother Russia with a ribbon with the first words of the russian anthem, in the background is a traditional russian country house, on the left is Archangel Michael protecting Mother Russia before the dragon, right is cossack and his girl, down is the russian eagle. At the top is the chrismon, the slavic kolovrat, the God's eye and the motto of imperial Russia: "S nami Bog” (in English something like “The God with us”).
