Jan Hachran and his fourth illustration dedicated to Lusatian Sorbs - the course of work

In our book each slavic nation will have their own illustration, that will capture its essence and pass it on to its readers. Its author will be our spiritual father, author of the texts and main illustrator Jan Hachran. Here you can see as step by step progressed his work on the fourth illustration dedicated to the Lusatian Sorbs.

Brief description: The main theme is one of the most famous traditions of the Lusatian Sorbs, namely the eastern cavalry of crusaders, an ancient tradition still alive today in the catholic parts of the Lusatia, coupled with faith and prays for good harvest. In addition we see the coat of arms of Upper and Lower Lusatia in the left and right part and also the so - called Ochranov star, which was formerly produced in Ochranov (the Ochranow in the lusatian sorbian language, Herrnhutt in german) and its origin is connected to the Czech lands, namely to the Church of the Moravian Brothers (Moravian church), which (as the name suggests) came to Lusatia from Moravia.

If you keep follow us, you will see the development of this and other illustrations from the beginning to the end.
