Patriotic trip to Levý Hradec

We took a small patriotic trip to Levý Hradec, namely to the place, where the old and important slavic fortified settlement once existed, which is supposed to be the original seat residence of prince Bořivoj, the first known and documented ruler in Bohemia. He built here the oldest church dedicated to St. Clement in whole Bohemia. The settlement is mentioned by the chronicler Cosmas already in connection with the legendary lucian war (between the tribes of the Bohemians and Lucians), so it is assumed, that it existed before the prince Bořivoj. In the 19th and 20th centuries many significant archaeological finds of jewelery, weapons, clay pots and other objects were discovered. Today you can visit here the nice church, that stands in the place of the original and attentive visitor can see the remnants of earthen walls, the last remnants of the old fortifications...
