The magick of the old books
Old books are a treasure trove of human culture, especially if they carry the stories, rumors, history and folk wisdom of our slavic nations, and especially if they are beautifully illustrated. Two such treasures were found in the secondhand book store for the total price of 40 czech crowns (1,6€ or 1,8$) by the spiritual father of this project, the main illustrator and author of the texts of our upcoming book Jan Hachran. Specifically, these are the books “The legends of czech castles and chateaux” and “The czech heroes” with beautiful art nouveau illustrations from czech artist Adolf Wenig.
If you ever go to a secondhand bookstore try to save a few of these books - not only because of the beautiful craftsmanship elaboration, which most books today cannot compete with, but also because of the stories, legends and rumors they contain, as it is important to save it for the next generations, because it should not be forgotten. At the time of national revival, such books were the most important medium, which helped save our languages and culture and we should not forget it...
